Why buy from a small business?

As small businesses disappear, it's fair to ask the question "Why buy from the small businesses that remain alive?".

After all, the few large chains, both brick and mortar and e-commerce sites generally (though not always) offer the best price and the fastest delivery for online orders (shipped and/or picked up). And they generally stand behind the product sold if there is a need to return it (within a certain window of time).

Well, one reason to consider is "What if I have a question?" . You'll be very lucky if you get through on the phone to any of the major retailers. And if you do, it will be difficult to get to a human. And if you do, chances are you will end up speaking with a third party call center, possibly overseas, who, when asked something out of their script, will either make up an answer or try to dissuade you from asking the question in the first place!! That is if you can understand them - sometimes they speak fluent English but with a very difficult accent and a mile a minute!!

That's one reason!
