Detects ultraviolet radiation in flames
The Honeywell C7035A1023 is a compact ultraviolet (UV) Minipeeper flame detector designed for use with Honeywell flame safeguard controls on gas, oil, and coal-fired burners. It mounts directly onto a 1-inch sighting pipe using an integral collar and detects UV radiation emitted by combustion flames, providing a reliable flame signal to any compatible 7800 Series or BCS 7700 Series UV amplifier.
This is the standard 0°F to 250°F ambient-rated, 1-inch mount C7035 with 6-foot leadwires. The UV sensing tube is field-replaceable (part no. 129464M), making long-term maintenance straightforward without replacing the entire detector body.
Key Features
- Ultraviolet (UV) flame detection — detects UV radiation emitted by all flames; end-viewing orientation
- 1-inch sighting pipe mounting — uses integral collar with 1-inch internal threads; requires a 1-inch sighting pipe at least 2.5 inches long
- 6-foot (72-inch) leadwires — two leads for connection to compatible UV amplifier
- Field-replaceable UV sensing tube — replacement tube part no. 129464M; tube can be swapped in the field without replacing the detector body
- Protective shield — guards the UV sensing tube from physical damage and contaminants
- Pressure-sealed — seals against pressures up to 5 psi (34.5 kPa) when correctly installed
- Parallel wiring capable — multiple detectors can be wired in parallel for difficult sighting applications where a single detector cannot achieve adequate flame signal
- NEMA 3 and NEMA 4/4X rated — meets UL outdoor rain-tight requirements; suitable for outdoor and wet location installations

Any Honeywell 7800 Series or BCS 7700 Series primary burner control paired with a compatible UV amplifier above, including the RM7890, RM7895, RM7838, RM7823, and related relay modules.
C7035A Model Comparison
The C7035 family all use 1-inch sighting pipe mounting — choose the right model based on temperature rating and lead length:
| Model | Ambient Temp Range | Lead Length | Key Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| C7035A1023 | 0°F to 250°F | 6 ft | This unit — standard temp rating |
| C7035A1031 | -40°F to 250°F | 6 ft | Extended low-temp rating for cold environments |
| C7035A1080 | 0°F to 250°F | 10 ft | Longer lead; 600°F-rated leadwire for high-heat installations |
Need ½-inch mounting instead of 1-inch? The C7027A series uses the same UV detection technology but mounts on ½-inch sighting pipe.
Installation Notes
- Sighting pipe must be threaded to match the detector's 1-inch internal collar threads
- Sight pipe length and angle must be determined at installation — pipe should tilt slightly downward to prevent soot or dirt accumulation
- Ordinary glass filters out UV radiation — do not install glass sight ports in the sight pipe
- If the UV sensing tube continues to glow when no flame is present, replace the tube (part no. 129464M)
- Not designed for side-viewing applications — end-viewing orientation only
Common Applications
The C7035A1023 is widely used in commercial and industrial boiler flame safeguard systems, process burners, furnaces, and other single-burner combustion equipment where UV flame detection is specified. It is a direct-fit replacement for any existing C7035A1007 or C7035A1015 installation and is commonly paired with RM7890, RM7895, and RM7838 series relay modules equipped with R7849 or R7851 UV amplifiers.
